For our 10th anniversary, i got dennis tickets to one of his favorite novelty/singer act: The Flight of the Conchords. So this memorial weekend, off we went to sin city to rock out and have some "business time". On friday, I gots my hair cut by a professional (first time in 3 yrs since i am too cheap to pay someone) and drove my kids to Twin Falls to meet grandparents who volunteered to watch them. Then dennis and i flew out (and yes our arms are soooooo tired) on saturday to 94 degree weather of Veags. We stayed at the mirage on the strip. This is the view from our hotel room.
This is us at the concert at the Hard Rock Hotel.
This is what i looked at all Sunday morning at the hotel's pool turning a nice shade of "lobster red" while dennis played some poker. I sat in the sun for 2 hours reading in peace all the while burning. my pasty white skin. I loved it. (although a bottle of water did cost me $9.00) But it was very relaxing.
This is dennis at a fancy restaurant he took us to with his poker winnings from earlier that day. We went to "olives" in the Bellagio and i don't recommend it. For the price of the meal, i could have gotten some really cute pants and a shirt (maybe even some shoes=)
This was the oreo-fried sundae we had at the famous "serendipity3" Also, not all that good.BUT i had a great time spending adult time with dennis and alone time to just read a book without a constant "mommy. mommy. mooooommmmmmy" in the background. (just now as i am writing this, nathan really, really needs me to hold him.) And yes, after 3 days, i am still LOBSTER RED!!! And i love it!

Happy Anniversary my friend! What a cool experience, I am so glad that you were able to get away! I can hardly wait to see the new "do".
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun trip and the oreo dessert- i want some!!
ReplyDeleteOkay, did not know you went to see Flight of the Concords...LOVE them! Glad you got some sun and some business time with the hubby. :-)
ReplyDeleteP.S. I heart your hair!!
You guys went to Flight of the Concords! That is so awesome! We really wanted to go but couldn't justify the expense so we went to Ben Folds instead. I don't know if Jon ever said thank you for the cute stuff that you sent us, but it's awesome. We were already thinking about doing the nursery pink and brown with an elephant theme, so that was even cooler. You have to let us know if you're ever in Vegas again because we would love to drive down and say hi. We never get to see you guys and we just missed you up in IF this year. You went the week after us! Oh well.
